Northern Nevada, including the Reno/North Valleys area, is experiencing critical fire weather conditions due to a passing cold front, the National Weather Service Reno Office stated. Smoke from ongoing wildfires, particularly the Gold Ranch Fire, is impacting air quality in the region, according to the NWS

Winds from the southwest are causing choppy lake conditions and blowing dust, reducing visibility in some desert areas. A Red Flag Warning remains in effect, now expanded to include the Lake Tahoe area, while a Lake Wind Advisory is in place due to strong gusts.

Low pressure will bring cooler weather this week, with mostly dry conditions and typical daytime breezes expected. A slight chance of isolated showers is possible this evening, though significant precipitation is unlikely.
