Southern California is experiencing a surge in temperatures today, with highs expected to exceed 100 degrees in inland areas such as Paso Robles, the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley. The National Weather Service has issued warnings for heightened HeatRisk in the coastal valleys and foothills of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.

A significant cooling trend is expected to begin on Wednesday as an upper low pressure system moves down the Pacific Northwest coast. By Thursday, temperatures are predicted to drop 3 to 8 degrees below normal, bringing relief from the heat. Alongside the cooler weather, the marine layer is expected to return, leading to increased low clouds, especially by Thursday night.

Additionally, strong Sundowner winds are forecasted for the Santa Barbara Southwest Coast, with gusts of 30 to 50 mph anticipated tonight and Wednesday night. A Wind Advisory is in effect from 6 PM today through 3 AM tomorrow for the Western Santa Ynez Range and nearby coastal areas.
