The Labor Day weekend will bring relatively calm weather to the San Francisco Bay Area, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service. A warming and drying trend is set to begin on Tuesday, with temperatures near normal and onshore winds prevailing today. By Friday, a slight cooldown is expected, providing some relief as the weekend approaches.

As the upper-level disturbance near the California-Oregon border moves offshore, the marine layer, currently at 1,000 feet, is anticipated to compress further to 500 feet. High pressure building in will contribute to this change, influencing the weather pattern for the coming days.

With the warmer weather, safety precautions are advised for those engaging in outdoor activities. Fire safety remains a priority, with recommendations to use grills and smokers on non-flammable surfaces and to maintain vehicle safety to prevent fires. Hikers are encouraged to stay hydrated, wear appropriate clothing, and inform someone of their plans. For those heading to the beach, swimming at lifeguard-supervised beaches and staying vigilant about ocean conditions are key to staying safe.
