Southern California is bracing for potentially dangerous heat this week, with temperatures expected to soar across the region. The National Weather Service forecasts a significant warmup starting Tuesday, particularly in the western San Fernando Valley, where highs could reach up to 108°F. By Wednesday and Thursday, valley and foothill areas could see temperatures climb even higher, with the western San Fernando Valley possibly hitting a scorching 110°F.

Excessive Heat Watches are already in effect, covering non-coastal areas of Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties. As the heat intensifies, these may be upgraded to Heat Advisories or Excessive Heat Warnings.

Low clouds and fog are expected to be minimal, with mostly clear skies dominating the forecast. While temperatures will begin to ease slightly over the weekend, the midweek heatwave poses a serious risk for heat-related illnesses, making it crucial for residents to take precautions.
