Starting the week of September 3rd, BART will begin installing Next Generation Fare Gates at the 24th Street/Mission Station. The first set of gates to be replaced will be those near the Station Agent Booth closest to 24th and Mission streets. During this phase, the second array of old gates will remain open for riders, with signage directing them accordingly. Temporary barriers will be set up to ensure safety for both the installation team and passengers. Each array is expected to take about two weeks to complete. This installation follows successful upgrades at Civic Center, Fruitvale, and West Oakland stations, with all BART stations expected to have new fare gates by the end of 2025.
