The National Weather Service in Portland has forecasted a brief cooldown today, with temperatures closer to normal due to a passing disturbance. Inland temperatures are expected to reach the mid to upper 70s, while the coast will see mid-60s. A slight chance of thunderstorms is possible in far southeastern Lane County, though most activity will remain east of the Cascades.

Starting Tuesday, temperatures will rise significantly, with inland areas expected to hit the low 80s and coastal areas reaching the upper 60s to low 70s. The heat intensifies on Wednesday, with inland temperatures jumping to the low to mid-90s, as a thermal trough develops along the southern Oregon coast and extends northward. This will also lead to lower humidity and gusty winds, particularly in the Cascades and foothills, increasing fire weather concerns through the end of the week.
