Western Washington will experience cooler and cloudier conditions today as a weak upper trough moves across the region, bringing a chance of showers or isolated thunderstorms, especially near the Cascade crest. The National Weather Service in Seattle reports that stronger onshore flow is pulling the marine layer inland, contributing to the cooler temperatures.

As the upper trough shifts eastward tonight, the atmosphere will stabilize, and most areas will clear out by Tuesday afternoon. A significant warm-up is expected midweek as an upper ridge rebuilds over the area, with temperatures rising into the 70s and 80s across the region by Wednesday. Coastal areas could see highs in the lower 80s, while interior lowlands will range from the mid-70s to mid-80s.
