The National Weather Service reports that hot, dry conditions will persist across the Bay Area through Friday, with temperatures soaring 10-20 degrees above normal and posing significant fire risks. Widespread HeatRisk remains, while critical fire weather is expected in interior areas due to poor humidity recovery and light offshore winds. A shallow marine layer is causing patchy fog and coastal drizzle, reducing visibility, according to the National Weather Service.

The Boone Fire in Fresno County is also contributing to smoke and haze. Relief is on the way, with a cooling trend forecasted to start on Saturday and continue into next week.
