Above-normal temperatures will persist across Northern California's interior through Monday, with inland highs expected to reach the 90s, according to the National Weather Service. The coastal regions will continue to see overnight stratus clouds and brief afternoon clearing over the weekend.

A significant change is on the horizon as a larger trough is expected to move through the Pacific Northwest by midweek. This system may bring light rain, particularly to Del Norte and Humboldt Counties, with a 40%-50% chance of wetting rain on Wednesday. Inland areas, including Mendocino and Lake Counties, may see gusty winds, with a 50% chance of gusts exceeding 30 mph. Cooler temperatures are expected to return by Tuesday, bringing some relief from the heat.
