The National Weather Service in Portland reports a shift towards cooler temperatures and improved air quality as onshore flow returns to the region. This morning, scattered showers have largely moved east of the Cascades, with increased marine air helping to clear out haze and smoke that has affected visibility. Expect a sunny afternoon with temperatures climbing to the mid-80s, although some lingering haze may persist until the onshore flow fully takes effect.

Looking ahead, temperatures will gradually decrease on Monday, with highs around 80 in the interior valleys. Cloud cover and cooler conditions will begin to set in by Tuesday as a new weather system approaches. Rain chances are expected to increase by Tuesday night, with widespread precipitation likely across the area by Wednesday, as a deep trough moves into the Pacific Northwest.
