Massaro leads Talbot in opener
CENTREVILLE — Anthony Massaro hurled a complete game four-hitter, striking out 10 and walking three Monday night, as Talbot Post 70/77 defeated Queen Anne’s-Kent County, 4-3, in Game 1 of their best-of-three American Legion Eastern Shore League North Division baseball playoff series. Tuesday’s Game 2 was canceled and had yet to be rescheduled at press-time on Tuesday. Massaro, who helped himself by going 2 for 3 at the plate, allowed just one earned run, as third-seeded Talbot improved to 3-5-1. Couper Barletta had a two-run single, and Josh Dressler and Jacob Bealefeld each had one hit. Evan Dickey took the loss for Queen Anne’s-Kent County (3-4). Jacob Clough, Dulin Clark, Evan Norwood and Devin Wallace each had a hit for Queen Anne’s-Kent.
