GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) — Inmates at the Neuse Correctional Institution received diplomas and certifications from Wayne Community College during a graduation ceremony held at the prison.

These individuals received either a High School Equivalency diploma or a Human Resources Development certificate. They got to wear traditional caps and gowns for the ceremony as Wayne Community College Instructor Andrew Rose handed out the certificates.

The High School Equivalency graduates had been working towards their diplomas for three years, including attending class at the institution Monday through Friday.

The Human Resources Development individuals took courses three days a week learning employability skills such as how to fill out resumes and job applications, preparing for interviews and learning technology skills.
