Next Level: UNC's New Challenge on Offense, Chip Lindsey Joins
Last season, in his first as North Carolina offensive coordinator, Chip Lindsey was tasked with tweaking an already successful offense, improving the deficiencies and managing sure-fire first round NFL Draft pick Drake Maye. Heading into year two, Lindsey will have plenty of talent at the skill positions, a quarterback competition that will continue in training camp and a work-in-progress offensive line with size and potential but little experience as a unit. North Carolina went 8-5 during the 2023 season. They went 4-4 against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents. They finished the season on a three-game losing streak. UNC opened the season with six consecutive wins. The good start began in Charlotte, N.C., when they defeated South Carolina (31-17). They then opened at home the following week, defeating Appalachian State (40-34) in double overtime.
