Perrine Delacour hit the opening tee shot in front of the home fans earlier in the week and we've got a wonderful line up of some of the globe's best players. It's set to be another thrilling day for golf in the Olympics.

DELACOUR GETS WOMEN'S OLYMPIC TOURNAMENT UNDERWAY

FIRST GROUPS UNDERWAY

Good morning, we have the third group going off now on a relatively cool Parisien morning.

The opening group of Delcacour, De Roey and Meadow all parred the opening hole.

Chinese Taipei's Peiyun Chien rolls in a 10-footer at the par-3 2nd to become the first woman under par at the 2024 Olympics.

EARLY TROUBLE

Esther Henseleit doubles the 1st and Singapore's Shannon Tan has just found the water on the 1st, too.

A cloudy day so far, no sign of that baking sun we saw in the men's event last week yet.

HULL AND ZHANG BOTH FIND THE WATER

Both Charley Hull and Rose Zhang pull their opening tee shots left into the water.

BIRDIES AT THE 1ST

Mexico's Maria Fassi and Norway's Celine Borge both birdie the 1st to join the early lead.

Fassi, who was runner-up in the inaugural Augusta National Women's Amateur, managed to chip in for her 3.

The German found the bunker long of the par-3 2nd and fails to get it up-and-down to drop to +3

Defending gold medallist and World No.1 Nelly Korda is up next alongside Jin Young Ko and Ruoning Yin.

BIG HOOK FROM JIN YOUNG KO

The former World No.1 hits a massive pull off the 1st that carries straight into the water.

Rose Zhang did similar just now and she hit a stunning fairway wood into the green that should at least salvage a simple bogey.

The Englishwoman three-putts the 1st for double bogey after finding water off the tee.

Zhang made bogey while Green made a very simple par.

RUONING YIN IN THE WATER

The World No.5 hit a lovely tee shot down the 1st but her iron shot just comes up short of the green.

Jin Young Ko finds the edge of the green with a 3-wood after taking a drop. Should make bogey.

BROOKE HENDERSON UP NEXT

Another big group makes their way to the 1st tee, with Henderson, Hyo Joo Kim and Xiyu Lin set to tee off.

Korda bogeys the 1st after finding the green in regulation as Ko and Yin also bogey - but they found the water so ended up making good saves.

BORGE TO THE TOP

Norway's Celine Borge is the first woman to two-under after birdies at the 1st and 3rd.

The 1st is proving difficult this morning with many players hitting driver-wood or long-iron into the green. A number of players have found the water with their first or second shots.

BRILLIANT BIRDIE FROM TAVATANAKIT AT THE 1ST

The big-hitting Thai uses her length to her advantage on the 1st after bombing a drive to leave a mid-iron into the green.

She got it to within 15ft and rolled in the birdie putt.

Lots of players still finding the water on 1.

KORDA 3-PUTT

Nelly 3-putts the par-5 3rd for par so fails to get the shot back that she dropped on the 1st.

Alessandra Fanali has just made a triple on the 1st, which is continuing to pose problems for the players.

Anne van Dam has just holed a huge birdie putt on the 6th to get to -1, while Manon de Roey has rolled in a long birdie putt at 7 to also get under-par.

POOR START FROM STEPHANIE MEADOW

The Irishwoman has struggled so far this morning at Le Golf National with four bogeys in her opening seven holes.

SIX PLAYERS UNDER PAR CURRENTLY

The story from this morning has to be the 1st hole. The women are playing it at the same length as the men last week and it's proving a beast.

A number of players have found the water off the tee left while plenty have also found the water on their second shots too.

NELLY KORDA UPDATE

The World No.1 has made two bogeys in five holes, including three-putts at the 1st and 3rd.

She's just parred the 5th so will hope to find some rhythm and get herself back to level par as soon as possible. She has par-5s coming up at 9, 14 and 18 so should be able to give herself plenty of chances.

CELINE BORGE STILL LEADING THE WAY

The Norwegian has made two birdies and four pars thru six holes to maintain the lead at two-under.

Borge has one victory on the Epson Tour (LPGA feeder) and currently ranks 187th in the world. She was T7th at the recent Dana Open on the LPGA Tour so is clearly showing good form this summer.

CHARLEY HULL AMONG BIG NAMES STRUGGLING

The Englishwoman has dropped to three-over after dropping another shot at the 6th. She doubled the 1st after finding water off the tee and then three-putting.

Nelly Korda remains at +2 while Brooke Henderson has dropped four strokes in her first five holes.

BIG GROUP HEADING OFF

Minjee Lee, Atthaya Thitikul and Yuka Saso are underway.

BORGE TWO CLEAR AT THE TOP

The Norwegian birdied the 7th to go with birdies at 1 and 3.

She's the first and only woman to three-under and currently leads by two.

Mariajo Uribe, the pro making her last ever start before retiring at the Olympics this week, has got off to the perfect start with a birdie at the 1st.

Nelly Korda has dropped to three-over after dropping her third shot of the day at the par-4 7th.

The Colombian, who is retiring soon, has began birdie-birdie!

DELACOUR ALSO STRUGGLING

The Frenchwoman hit the opening tee shot this morning and spoke of the advice she had from Matthieu Pavon , but so far it's been a struggle.

She has just made a double bogey at the 12th to drop to four-over and is yet to make a birdie today.

Sad news for Jin Young Ko fans (me included) as the former World No.1 and modern day great has doubled the par-5 9th and then bogeyed the 10th to suddenly fall four-over-par.

URIBE MOVES TO THE TOP

Celine Borge has company as the soon-to-be-retiring Mariajo Uribe moves to three-under after 4.

The Indian, who was 4th last time in Tokyo, has just made her third birdie of the day at the 13th to reach two-under.

CHARLEY HULL REALLY STRUGGLING

The Englishwoman doubled the first and it has gone from bad to extremely worse around the turn.

She has bogeyed 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11 to fall to seven-over-par and bottom of the leaderboard alongside Stephanie Meadow.

The Norwegian has made her first mistake of the day as she drops a shot at the 13th to fall out of the lead for the first time in a long time.

Wei-Ling Hsu has just birdied the 8th to move into the lead at two-under.

Jin Young Ko has just gone birdie-birdie at 11 and 12 to move back to two-over while Nelly Korda has birdied the 9th and 13th to get back to +1.

Charley Hull has dropped another shot at the 13th, sadly, to move to +8 in dead-last.

LILIA VU JOINS THE LEAD

The World No.2 has birdied the 3rd and 5th to move into a six-way tie for the lead.

Vu said that gold would rank higher than a Major - so she'll be very happy with her start.

The Frenchwoman moves up to the top of the leaderboard and the home crowds are going wild!

But wait, Lilia Vu picks up another birdie at the 6th to join Boutier at -3.

BRILLIANT FROM JIN YOUNG KO

The Korean superstar holes a 20-footer on the par-5 14th to move back to +1.

It's her third birdie in a row after dropping three shots in two holes around the turn.

The World No.1 was three-over after 7 but birdies at 9, 13 and 14 get her back to where she started.

GABY LOPEZ CLUBHOUSE LEADER

The Mexican finishes birdie-birdie-birdie to post a two-under 70 for the clubhouse lead.

JIN YOUNG KO CONTINUES FIGHTBACK

The Korean was four-over after 10 holes but has birdied three of her last four holes to move back to +1.

JIN YOUNG KO BACK TO LEVEL

Wow, the Korean superstar is on fire on this back nine. After dropping to +4 thru 10, Ko has birdied 11, 12, 14 and 16.

GEORGIA HALL DOUBLE

The British star has made a double bogey at the 7th to drop to two-over.

She's in a tie for 30th now, while Charley Hull is in last-place at nine-over.

Not the best of starts for the Team GB women.

LILIA VU BOGEYS 9

The American was in prime position after finding the fairway down 9 but chose to lay up and it didn't pay off. Her first dropped shot of the day puts her back into a tie for the lead with playing partner Boutier.

BOUTIER AND VU MATCHING SHOT-FOR-SHOT

This is a brilliant watch with home favorite Celine Boutier and World No.2 Lilia Vu topping the leaderboard while playing together.

Both have good birdie looks at 10 after solid iron shots so we could see some more movement on the leaderboard.

JY KO DROPS BACK

Jin Young Ko bogeys the 17th to fall back to +1. The incredible run comes to an end.

ROSE ZHANG SHOOTS LEVEL-PAR

The two-time LPGA Tour winner is in the house at level after three birdies and three bogeys.

A very solid start.

CHARLEY HULL CARDS AN 81

A disaster start for the Englishwoman, who made a double and seven bogeys in her nine-over 81.

BOUTIER LEADS!

What a story. The Frenchwoman rolls in her birdie putt from 15ft on the 10th to move to four-under.

KORDA ON 18TH IN TWO

Nelly Korda will have two putts to shoot 71 (-1), which would be a brilliant turnaround after falling three-over after seven.

She's a long way away though in the back left, with the pin tucked front-right of the huge green.

Her playing partner Ruoning Yin has found the water with her second so may be about to bogey.

DIKSHA DAGAR TO -3

The Indian, with her dad on the bag, has moved up to T2nd with Lilia Vu after her third birdie of the day at the 14th.

Bogey-free right now for the left-hander, what a round she has on the go.

PERRINE DELACOUR (+7/79) ON HITTING THE OPENING TEE SHOT IN HER HOME GAMES:

"I got lucky to be able to hit the first tee shot at the Olympics in my home country. It was definitely a lot of emotion, and as you can see on the scorecard, I kind of left a lot of energy for the rest of the round," she said.

"Well, not crying on the first tee, that was hard. I mean, I'm just trying to do my best. I knew it was going to be a lot of emotion. But it was hard for sure when you start hearing La Marseillaise on the first tee. It was hard to stay patient and stay in the present because you really realise you're playing from France and in front of your crowd."

GREAT PAR SAVE FROM YIN ON 18

Ruoning Yin manages to hole an 8-footer on the 18th for par after finding the water.

She posts a level-par 72.

BOUTIER TO FIVE-UNDER!

The Frenchwoman holes a 20-footer on the par-3 11th to move two clear at the top.

NELLY THREE-PUTTS THE LAST

The World No.1's eagle putt ran about 6ft past and she pushes her birdie attempt out to the right.

It's a par to finish and a level-par 72. Not bad at all.

CLUBHOUSE LEADER GABY LOPEZ (-2/70)

"I think the golf course plays very challenging off the tee because you have curved fairways and it's really easy to run through them. You've got to be very specific off the line, off the tee. Birdied the last three holes. Gives that you momentum and that faith of kind of keep fighting for whatever it is, for a medal, for a good finish, for your country until the end."

ROSE ZHANG AFTER A 72 (E)

"Yeah, it played difficult and I would say it's to be expected. Pretty satisfied with how I was able to manoeuvre myself around the golf course. Hit some errant shots but you know, that's to be expected when you're in difficult conditions."

HANNAH GREEN SHOOTS 77

The Australian has been arguably the second-best player in the women's game this year, currently ranking 6th in the world.

But she struggled today with a five-over 77 and will need to turn it around over the next 3 days if she wants to challenge for the medals.

OTHER BIG NAMES STRUGGLING

US Women's Open champion Yuka Saso is four-over after 12 while Leona Maguire is four-over after 8.

Brooke Henderson is also four-over, as is Patty Tavatanakit, while Minjee Lee has just missed a short par putt at 12 to fall to three-over.

BROOKE HENDERSON EAGLES THE 18TH!

The Canadian holes a monster eagle putt from the back of the 18th green to get in at two-over-par.

Brilliant finish.

LEONA MAGUIRE 7-OVER

I've just seen the Irishwoman made a triple-bogey on the par-5 9th. Ouch.

She's down in T56th out of 60 players. A very disappointing start.

XIYU LIN SHOOTS 71

Xiyu 'Janet' Lin, who is one of the best players yet to win on the LPGA Tour, has got in at one-under-par after birdies at three of her final five holes.

BOUTIER BOGEYS

The Frenchwoman bogeys the 12th after her 10ft par effort somehow lips out.

She still leads, but only by one.

DIKSHA DAGAR DROPS A SHOT

The Indian missed the green in two on the 17th and her chip shot came up short of the green and led to her first bogey of the day.

She's back to two-under.

NELLY KORDA'S 72

FINNISH PLAYERS STRUGGLING

It does not look like Finland will be winning a medal in the golf this year.

Ursula Wilkstrom is +10 and Noora Komulainen is currently +11, with the pair in 59th and 60th position out of the field of 60.

CHARLEY HULL AFTER HER 81

The Englishwoman says she is rusty after hurting her shoulder from falling over after a shower recently. It led to her withdrawing from the Aramco Team Series.

"I think it's a very scorable golf course. I just didn't hit it in the right positions, and when I hit good shots today I just missed clubs slightly, and that gets me into bad positions. Hopefully I've got the rust off me and I'm looking forward to hopefully shooting freaking 9-under tomorrow."

GEORGIA HALL DROPS ANOTHER SHOT

The Englishwoman has fallen to four-over after bogeying 13, where she found water off the tee.

BOUTIER BACK TO FIVE-UNDER

The home favorite stretches her lead at the top back to two strokes after a birdie at the par-5 14th. She holed from 8ft up the hill, just after Lilia Vu missed her own birdie chance from around 12ft.

BUHAI UP TO T2ND

The 2022 AIG Women's Open champion makes her fourth birdie of the day at the 13th to move up to three-under.

She has the par-5 14th up next, where she'll be hoping to pick off another.

DIKSHA DAGAR IN WITH A 71 (-1)

The Indian finishes bogey-bogey to post a one-under-par 71.

She'll be disappointed with that but she's right in the mix after 18 holes.

NELLY KORDA ON HER 72:

"Won't be very positive on the front nine but on the back nine I started hitting better putts. I actually didn't hit it that bad. I just made four 3-putts. The greens were just so like completely different, just from the practise green to the golf course, they were a lot slower. I feel like they were almost a foot slower from what I felt personally. It was very much a pace thing. I actually came up really short on No. 1. Short on No. 2. Very short on No. 3. So it was just a pace thing."

COULD LE GOLF NATIONAL HOST THE SOLHEIM CUP?

Nelly Korda hopes so.

"It's amazing. We were actually talking that it would be so much fun to have a Solheim Cup out here. I know the Ryder Cup was amazing, but the atmosphere was insane. I can't even imagine what it is like within Celine's group. I've heard a couple of the roars, and it's been such an amazing experience so far," she said.

NELLY KORDA ON 'MIND-BLOWING' CROWDS

"Yeah, I saw the crowds for the men, and to see the similar crowds for the women is just kind of for me mind-blowing. I wasn't sure what to expect walking on to that first tee, and obviously my first view was the tee. Then I kind of looked out to the green and I just saw like four people deep and I told Jason, I was like, oh my gosh, this is absolutely amazing. Like I did not expect this many people to come out and support everyone out here."

BIANCA PAGDANGANAN HOLES A BOMB AT 18

The Philippines star rolls in a massive birdie at the 18th to finish off a stunning bogey-free back nine of 33 (-3).

She's in with a level-par 72.

The Frenchwoman receives a huge ovation as she converts her seventh birdie of the day to move three clear at the top.

Morgane Metraux of Switzerland finished birdie-birdie to shoot 70 (-2).

She's currently T4th.

The South African's birdie putt on 14 looks like it was going to hang on the edge but after a few seconds - certainly not longer than the 10 second rule - it drops for another birdie.

MINJEE LEE BACK TO LEVEL

The Australian was struggling early on but has just gone birdie-birdie-birdie to climb back to level par.

BOUTIER ON FIRE!

After just missing the par-3 16th green long, she chips in for her third consecutive birdie!

The crowd are going wild and the Frenchwoman now leads by three.

LILIA VU DROPS BACK

A weak six-foot par effort on the 16th falls away to the left and Vu is now four back of Boutier.

The recent KPMG Women's PGA Championship winner was three-over after 7 holes but has picked up birdies on 11, 14 and 16 to get back to level par.

LYDIA KO DROPS BACK

The two-time Olympic medallist was going along very nicely at one-under but found the water with her second shot into 15 and has made double to fall back to +1.

URIBE IN AT -2

Mariajo Uribe finds the 18th in two and two-putts for her birdie.

It's a level-par 72 for the Colombian who is making her final pro start this week .

LILIA VU IN TROUBLE ON 18

The World No.2 has hit a nasty snap hook down the final hole and it's found the water.

She'll be very glad to get out of there with a par now.

GEORGIA HALL BIRDIE!

The Englishwoman finds her first birdie since the 3rd hole at the 16th to get back to three-over.

She's definitely not out of it just yet.

The two-time Major champion birdies four of her final five holes to get in the house under-par with a 71 (-1).

AGONY FOR PAULA RETO

South Africa's Paula Reto was two-over after 17 holes but finishes with a 9 to post a 78 (+6).

I didn't see it but I'd imagine she went into the water twice.

BOUTIER WITH A BIRDIE CHANCE ON 18

The Frenchwoman played the 18th conservatively and has around 20ft down the hill to get to eight-under.

Lilia Vu just misses her par chance from long range after finding the water off the tee and she drops to -2, signing for a 70.

The New Zealander, who has a silver and bronze medal already, has just rolled in a 15-footer at the last to get in at level-par.

Ashleigh Buhai, currently in second-place on her own is going for the 18th green in two...

She hits a lovely fairway wood into the huge green and will now face a very challenging two-putt to make birdie and shoot 67.

A brilliant birdie from Hall after wedging it to 10ft get her in at two-over for a 74.

She was four-over after 14 holes but birdied 16 and 18 to keep her medal hopes alive.

The first few groups are underway at Le Golf National this morning, with Morgane Metraux making the first move up to three-under.

The Danish star has made an eight on the 1st hole to drop down 20 spots on the leaderboard, from +1 to +5.

Celine Boutier is on the tee with Vu and Yang, and the crowd break out into La Marseillaise.

MORGANE METRAUX EAGLE

The Swiss player has just eagled the 3rd after birdieing the 1st and she's up to 2nd on the leaderboard at five-under.

BOUTIER UNDERWAY

The home star stripes a drive down the middle of the 1st fairway, as does Lilia Vu.

Supremely impressive, considering the crowd had just sung the national anthem and then broke out into 'Celine, Celine, Celine' chants.

Huge pressure on Boutier this week, but she looks to be lapping it up.

After making an 8 on the 1st, Pedersen has just doubled the 2nd as well.

She's six-over after two holes this morning and seven-over for the tournament now. Gutting.

The Swiss player has just hit a perfect baby draw into the back-left flag on 4 and she's going to have around 5ft for another birdie.

Just when the likes of Lydia Ko and Mariajo Uribe were circling, Swiss leader Morgane Metraux has extended her lead with a birdie on the ninth to move her to nine-under, three ahead of the two in second.

After a bogey on the seventh, Lydia Ko has recovered her composure and has just birdied the ninth to move into outright second on seven-under, two behind leader Morgane Metraux.

Thailand's Atthaya Thitikul was briefly World No.1 in 2022, and she's showing her class in the third round. she has just made her fifth birdie of the day on the 11th to sit three behind the leader.

It looked like Nelly Korda had shot of the day wrapped up earlier with her amazing birdie hole out on the seventh, but Australia's Hannah Green had other ideas with a stunning eagle on the par-4 17th to move to two-under. Is she primed for a late charge up the leaderboard on Saturday?

BREAKTHROUGH FOR BOUTIER

It's been a largely frustrating round for Celine Boutier, with a run of 10 successive pars, but she's finally got her first birdie of the day to move to four-under and five off the lead. Still plenty of time for the French star to delight the home fans with a medal run.

URIBE MOVES TO SEVEN-UNDER

Mariajo Uribe is having a heck of a final start in pro golf. The Colombian just birdied from the edge of the green on the 11th to move her level with Lydia Ko on seven-under. She's just two off the lead and a fairytale ending to her professional career is most definitely on!

METRAUX MISERY ON THE 10th

Leader Morgane Metraux has bogeyed the par-four 10th, and that sees her advantage wiped out to eight-under with Lydia Ko joining her at the top of the leaderboard.

KO JOINS THE LEADER

Lydia Ko is on a real roll just now, despite a slip-up on the seventh with a bogey. She's just birdied her second in a row on the 10th to join Morgane Metraux on eight-under for a share of the lead.

BOOST FOR BROOKE AT THE LAST!

Brooke Henderson has finished a bogey-free round with her fifth birdie of the day for a five-under 67. That will be hugely satisfying for the Canadian, who heads back to the clubhouse on two under and six off the lead as things stand.

MOMENTUM FOR HOME FAVORITE!

Celine Boutier is turning things around in front of her home fans. She's just made her second successive birdie to move to five-under, three off the lead.

GREAT EFFORT FROM GREEN

Australian Hannah Green won't be giving up her hopes of a medal just yet. She's just signed for a 66 - the best round of the day so far, which included an outrageous eagle on th 17th - to leave her five off the lead as things stand at three-under.

NELLY ON THE MOVE

US star Nelly Korda had an eagle look on the 14th green, but while she couldn't quite make it, she made no mistake with her second putt for her fourth birdie of the day to move to four-under and four off the lead. Korda won gold in Tokyo and she's giving herself a chance of a repeat in the final round.

HORROR AT THE 13th FOR BOUTIER!

Just when it looked like Celine Boutier, who had the lead after the first round, was dragging herself back into contention with successive birdies, all that good work - and more - has been undone by a triple bogey seven on the par 4 13th. She's now back to two-under, six off the lead.

ANOTHER SLIP FOR METRAUX!

And just like that, Morgane Metraux's grip at the top of the leaderboard has come apart with a bogey 12th to leave her one behind new leader Lydia Ko.

ROSE ZHANG'S EAGLE SEES HER TIE THE LEAD!

Rose Zhang has been impressive all day, and it got even better for the US star on the 14th with an eagle to move her into a tie for the lead with three others at seven-under at the top of the leaderboard.

ALL CHANGE AT THE TOP

Things can change quickly in golf, and the third round of the women's Olympics tournament is proving that. First, Lydia Ko grabbed the outright lead from Morgane Metraux, then, Rose Zhang put herself firmly into contention with an eagle, and now, Ko has dropped a shot at the 12th. The upshot is there are currently four co-leaders - Ko, Metraux, Zhang and Mariajo Uribe.

KORDA KEEPS GOING

While it's carnage at the top of the leaderboard, with four now on seven-under, you can't write off Nelly Korda. She made her fifth birdie of the day on the 15th to move within two. Game on!

NOT IN THE PLAN FOR ZHANG

Rose Zhang had just joined three others at the top of the leaderboard with an eagle, but she now drops to five-under after a double bogey on the 15th. Can she recover with just three left in the day?

METRAUX DROPS BACK

It's not just Rose Zhang who has come a little unstuck in recent holes. Swiss player Morgane Metraux, who began the day in the lead, has bogeyed three of the last four to leave her at six-under, one behind the two co-leaders, with five to play.

A DREAM COMING TRUE FOR MARIAJO URIBE

Don't forget that, while superstars like Lydia Ko and Nelly Korda are well in the running for medals deep into the third round, for outsider Mariajo Uribe, who has a share of the lead with Ko, this is the Colombian's last-ever outing as a professional. Can she keep it going over her final few holes of the day?

MIYU YAMASHITA LEAPS TO THIRD

Such is the congestion at the top of the leaderboard that even players who had been playing competently but hadn't really looked like making a move are now finding themselves in contention. Take Miyu Yamashita. The Japanese star, who has been there or thereabouts without really coming into the conversation, is now on six-under, just one off the lead, after a birdie on the 15th - her third of the day.
