Death of Kayeleigh Gammill in Monterey County, California still a mystery almost 2 years later
There’s a rule in the Gammill household: If you’re out past 11 p.m., call Mom and let her know if you’re not coming home. Jennifer Gammill reminded her daughter, 20-year-old Kayeleigh, of that rule when Kayeleigh left their Salinas, California home around 5:30 p.m. on August 17, 2022. “She’s like, ‘No, no. I know, Mom. I’m just gonna be gone for a couple hours and I’ll be home,’” Jennifer recalled. “And I’m like, ‘OK, fine. No worries.’”
Hot Summer Days: Soledad triumphs over heat wave to host 3rd annual car show
SOLEDAD — Despite soaring temperatures, the City of Soledad successfully hosted the third annual Soledad Hot Summer Days Car Show and Fundraiser. “Huge thank you to all the people, groups and organizations that helped make Hot Summer Days 2024 successful,” stated the City on social media. “We were so pleased to see people from all over come into Soledad to celebrate. Two Open Ground Studios artists have been covering the county with colorful murals.
There’s a new mural in Seaside. It decorates the Open Ground Studios’ building, bringing more color and interest to passing drivers and pedestrians along Fremont Boulevard. The mural is by two Open Ground artists – Paul Richmond and Brenda Scettrini-Saglio – and is just one of 13 the duo recently finished in various locations around Monterey County in a campaign they call Community Colors.
