Main Street discusses forming Junior Main Street Board
The Gonzales Main Street board met for a regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, June 25, to go over plans to establish a Junior Main Street Board at the Gonzales High School. “This was brought to the board as an idea when I got back from the Main Street Now conference in Birmingham. The idea is to create a club at the high school and those members of the club will be a Junior Main Street Board,” Main Street Director Tiffany Hutchinson-Padilla said.

The City of Shiner’s Edwin Wolters Memorial Museum soon will install two new mini-split heating, ventilating and air conditioning units to better preserve local history, thanks to a $9,161 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority.
Shiner Council discusses chamber repair quotes, approves K-9 for Shiner Police Department
Shiner City Council members discussed building repair quotes for the Shiner Chamber of Commerce building at the July 1st meeting. “The worst thing about the building is that there’s no ventilation in the foundation,” Shiner Councilmember Gus Jaehne said. “The floor is also getting bad in there. Exterior wise, it needs a lot of repair work. It needs to be painted because it’s a very old building. There also should be an air conditioner in the bathroom.”
