    Federal fugitive captured in McDonald County, theft ring investigation

    MCDONALD COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM) - Authorities in southwest Missouri capture a federal fugitive during a theft ring investigation.

    The McDonald County Deputies, Detectives and Special Response Team served two search warrants on Thursday and Friday in the Goodman area. According to the Sheriff's Office, the warrants were part of a theft ring investigation.

    Thursday's warrant was on South School Street in Goodman, Missouri. Authorities arrested three people.

    On Friday, they served the warrant on some property east of town, owned by the same people. Law enforcement officers found stolen property. They arrested two men on warrants, including federal fugitive Cory Rusher.

    "Good Job McDonald County Deputies!!!!" stated Sheriff Rob Evenson.

    Rusher's history includes a conviction for Burglary of Federal Firearms Licensee. You can read more here . In 2017, Cory Rusher was sentenced to 78 months (6.5 years) in federal prison and three years of supervised release.
