Post 8 Travels to Watertown for Makeup Doubleheader
What was supposed to be the first games of the season for Pierre was moved back to the end of June and now Pierre Post 8 will travel to Watertown to face Post 17 this evening. The Eights will face a dominant Watertown team who is currently 19-7 in South Dakota games and in fourth place in the South Dakota standings. Post 17 is 30-14 overall and having been swept by Renner in games on Monday, the Eights will try and take advantage of some weary legs. Pierre went 1-3 over the last weekend and at 2-16 overall and 1-8 in South Dakota games, these two games can be very important with a lot of seed points up for grabs. Then, on top of it, the Eights will host Spearfish on Wednesday at home who is just under the .500 mark in South Dakota games. It’s a big four games in two days for Pierre and depending on how the days go, could be a season defining couple of days.

New Instructions for Food Giveaway on June 12
The second of five food giveaways this year, sponsored by the Grant County Christian Service Council and Feeding South Dakota, will be held on Wednesday, June 12, from 4-5 p.m. in the Living Word Church parking lot on the north end of Milbank on Hwy. 15. The event will be similar to the one held last month, so guests will notice several changes if they didn’t attend in May. The changes are due to the fact that Feeding South Dakota is now receiving a large percentage of their food from The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). TEFAP is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans by providing them emergency food assistance at no cost, and the USDA provides the products and funds to operate this program.
