Luciano’s walk-off Blast propels Woodpeckers to doubleheader sweep of RiverDogs
Fayetteville, NC - Waner Luciano blasted a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to hand the Fayetteville Woodpeckers a 3-2 win in the nightcap of Saturday’s doubleheader with the Charleston RiverDogs at Segra Stadium. The Woodpeckers also held on for a 4-1 win in the resumption of Friday’s suspended game to earn a sweep of the twin bill. Jhon Diaz blasted two solo home runs for the RiverDogs in the second contest.

RiverDogs and Woodpeckers suspended by rain Friday night
Charleston, SC - The Charleston RiverDogs and Fayetteville Woodpeckers had their Friday night game at Segra Stadium suspended by rain after two innings. Rain also delayed the start of the contest for over two hours. The suspended game will resume at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday with the RiverDogs trailing 3-1 in the top of third inning. It will be played through seven innings. Another seven-inning game will follow approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first.

Benedict alumni help HBCU break annual fundraising goal
Columbia, SC (WOLO) — Benedict College is celebrating a decade of giving. 42 of the 63 alumni clubs, from the college have surpassed their yearly fundraising goal which goes to support several hardworking Benedict students.
