He reached that goal on Saturday night McLaughlin continued his fast weekend at Iowa Speedway on Saturday night, winning the first race of the IndyCar Series doubleheader for his first victory on an oval track. Body Found Deceased in Des Moines River Saturday
(Des Moines, IA) -- A man is dead after his body was found in the Des Moines River Saturday. Police responded Friday morning to reports of a person going under water in the Raccoon River, without reappearing. They suspended the search early Friday afternoon when they say debris and high water flow enhanced risk. Police then responded to a call Saturday evening for a report of a body in the water at the confluence of the two rivers, and they say they found a body near the SE 6th St bridge. They say early indications are that the body recovered Saturday evening, was the subject of Friday's efforts. The investigation is ongoing.
