IUP CULINARY INSTRUCTOR WINS GOLD MEDAL AT ACF PASTRY CHEF OF THE YEAR
A chef instructor in IUP’s Academy of Culinary Arts has been named the American Culinary Federation Pastry Chef of the Year. Erin Reed was given the ACF’s highest honor after a competition this week at their convention in Phoenix, Arizona. The federation says the award “proves skill, knowledge and professionalism in the culinary industry and recognizes a pastry chef who has displayed a passion for the craft, has an accomplished reputation in the pastry field and has helped educate others by sharing their knowledge.” Chef Reed earned her Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality management and Master’s in both education and education, training and instructional technology, and is a graduate of the culinary arts program and advanced baking and pastry program. She joined the college as an instructor in 2018.
