PLANNED OUTAGE ANNOUNCED FOR INDIANA BOROUGH NEXT WEEKEND
Indiana Borough and Penelec have announced that there will be a planned power outage next weekend. According to an announcement from Indiana Borough’s Facebook page, the planned outage for Penelec customers will be July 28th from 7 AM to 3 PM in the areas of North 7th Street, North 8th Street, Nixon Avenue and Philadelphia Street. Penelec says the customers that will be affected by the outage have been or will be notified by robocall of the planned blackout. Officials with the electric company say that the reason for the outage is because Verizon is replacing a utility pole behind Philadelphia Street between North 7th and North 8th streets in the borough, and Penelec plans to move their wires to the new pole. To do that safely, the lines need to be de-energized.
