Most trade rumors have the Steelers adding talent to their roster rather than subtracting it. There are many players on expiring deals heading into this season, but that could always change between now and the start of free agency next year. Some players are more likely to be re-signed by Pittsburgh than others. The MLB All-Star break is officially over. The second half of the 2024 MLB season is underway, with the Phillies heading to Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates. The Phillies open the second half of the season after setting a franchise record with 62 wins before the All-Star break. It was previously 57 in 2011 and 1993. The Phillies became only the 10th MLB team in history with 62+ wins before the break and only the fourth National League to do so. They do not add another “W” to the win column tonight. Pittsburgh nonprofit creates space for people on sobriety journey to socialize and learn
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A relatively new non-profit organization in Pittsburgh is creating a safe and vibrant space for people on a journey of sobriety to connect, socialize and learn. At the Teetotal Initiative, organizers plan unique activities and experiences at different locations around the city. It's all free of charge and free of alcohol. President Jackie Slaugenhaupt says Teetotal is marking its one-year anniversary. "We provide social space for people to go to that's sober-focused, so they can meet other like-minded people and have fun and be out and about in the community and just kind of have a good time and live life to the fullest." It's been life-changing for participants like Brett Hammon. "It's been really cool getting to meet people in a similar stage of life who are professionals and don't drink and want to go do something fun," Hammon said. "Just being out and about doing cool things with people is a big win for me."Mocktails replace cocktails at events like yoga sessions, bingo games, crafting, cooking and golf. There was even a comedy night featuring sober comedians.

There's a new outlook for local pharmacies throughout Pennsylvania.Governor Josh Shapiro has signed legislation that aims to save those businesses from closing.Since January, more than 140 pharmacies across the state have shut down.An investigation showed the issue is the "pharmacy benefits manager," who plays the middleman for insurance companies and the pharmacies themselves.The legislation aims to provide more transparency for the job, while saving money in the process.
