Averill Park restaurant reopens under new ownership
In June, the art non-profit Arts Letters & Numbers announced that it had bought La Perla Restaurant and Gregory House Country Inn in Averill Park. The Italian restaurant reopened on Monday after being closed for a little over a month.
The Bow Wow Bus Has Launched
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Greylock Canine Club's Bow Wow Bus took its inaugural field trip Friday morning to the Spruces. "It just gives the dogs a change of scenery," Greylock Canine Club owner Pete Umbrianna said, holding back his dog Quinn and her walking mate Lemon. "They have a beautiful big play area, but it is nice for them to see different things. And it is a socialization thing."

Kathryn Sheehan is the Executive Director of the Hart Cluett Museum and the Rensselaer County & Troy City Historian. A native of Troy, NY, Kathy’s career at the museum began as an intern from the Public History Program at SUNY Albany. She is currently working on a publication titled: “Architecture Worth Saving in Rensselaer County Revisited, 50 years Later.”

When a devastating fire claimed Le’s house, forcing his husband Matt Bertles to escape by flinging himself from a third-story window, the couple decided to “set out to live the good life.”

Guitarist extraordinaire, Bill Kirchen, made is annual trip to Troy, NY at The Hangar On The Hudson. If you’re not familiar with Kirchen, he was a guitarist, and original member of Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen. Listen to their version of “Hot Rod Lincoln” and that famous guitar riff, that’s Kirchen. He has been traveling with a who’s who of musicians, including Nick Lowe, since the Lost Planet Airmen broke up in 1976. His current band, Too Much Fun, include Rick Richards on drums and Jack Saunders on bass and harmony vocals, with Kirchen performing, rhythm and lead guitar as well as lead vocals. He has been dubbed “Titan of the Telecaster” in recognition of his prowess. Many young thrashers should sit back and listen to his melodic and tasteful style, while providing enough speed to make any metal head happy.

Anthony Birthplace Museum Hosts Tea Party, Poetry Reading
ADAMS, Mass. — The Susan B. Anthony Birthplace Museum will hold an afternoon tea featuring poetry readings by Nancy Manning and Karen Ciosek. The event will take place outside on Sunday, Aug. 4, at 3 p.m. with tea, sandwiches, baked goods by Shire Cottage Bakery, and cake. Table settings are being donated by Mary Whitman, flowers by Full Well Farm, and napkins provided by Annie Selkie Outlet.
