GRAHAM, N.C. (WGHP) — A man faces multiple charges after a woman was shot in Graham on Sunday, according to a Graham Police Department news release.

At 9:29 p.m., Graham officers responded to multiple reports of shots being fired in the 200 block of North Marshall Street.

Suspect identified after dispute between employees leads to shooting in Greensboro, police say

Arriving officers were told by Haw River Police Department officers that a woman was found in her vehicle on Main Street in Haw River with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her arm.

She told police that she was shot by 36-year-old Marcus Shane Britt at his home in the 200 block of North Marshall Street.

She was then taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Graham officers made contact with Britt at his home, interviewed him and executed a search warrant for the property.

During the search, multiple shell casings were recovered from across the street from Britt’s home, and a rifle was recovered from his property.

Britt was arrested and charged with:

    • felony shooting into an occupied vehicle
    • felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill
    • felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
    • misdemeanor injury to personal property
    • discharging a firearm within the city limits

Britt is in the Alamance County Detention Center without bond.
