Growing up, when Grace Girard would visit her grandparents at their lake house in Waupaca, they'd always drive over to Appleton for Wisconsin Timber Rattlers games.

Over the weekend, the former "Farmer Wants a Wife" star and Caledonia resident threw out the first pitch at one of their games.

"It was amazing," Girard said. "It was super fun."

And arguably more importantly, she got to partake in the team's time-honored tradition that is the Bratzooka.

Not familiar? It's essentially a meat cannon that fires wrapped brats on buns to fans. Girard said it was "a lot more powerful" than she thought it was going to be, but "really fun."

"I was more excited about that than the first pitch," Girard said, laughing.

The Timber Rattlers — the Milwaukee Brewers' High-A affiliate — had a doubleheader Saturday against the South Bend Cubs at Neuroscience Group Field.

The Rattlers — who rebranded to the Udder Tuggers for a few games at the end of June in celebration of Dairy Month — had a 10-1 victory in the first game of the day. They shut out the Cubs, 6-0, in the second.

Ahead of that second game, Girard got to hang out on the field, then throw out the first pitch. Having thrown out a first pitch for a Brewers game less than a month ago, she felt like she could "definitely do it here and have some fun with it."

Girard had a whole team with her on Saturday: Her immediate family — who viewers met during Season 2 of "Farmer Wants a Wife" — her aunt — the one who encouraged her to apply for the dating show in the first place — her grandpa, who's a huge baseball fan, and her boyfriend, Trevor Jung, the transit and mobility director for the City of Racine and a Wisconsin Democratic National Convention delegate.

With another victory on Sunday, the Timber Rattlers finished out the series 4 games to 2.

A look at Grace Girard's time on Fox's "Farmer Wants a Wife" Season 2 and her new relationship

Last year, Girard applied and got cast on Season 2 of Fox's "Farmer Wants a Wife." The show filmed last fall and aired this year.

There were four farmers, each with a crop of daters attempting to wrangle their hearts. On the season finale, Farmer Brandon Rogers chose Girard.

But, during the reunion, which aired in May, it was revealed that the two were no longer together. They split shortly after filming concluded, but had remained close friends, Girard told the Journal Sentinel.

Last month, Girard hard-launched her new relationship with Jung. They're both extroverted, have a "deep commitment" to their families, enjoy being on the go, making friends and entertaining, the couple shared with the Journal Sentinel in June.

"Obviously, the fans saw how much I love Wisconsin and how I probably could never leave here," Girard said in that interview. "So, it's been really, really nice to find what I was looking for in my backyard."
