Rep. Hillary Scholten (D-Grand Rapids) presented Harbor Transit with a $16.2 million grant on Tuesday that will fund a new operations center and a fleet of electric buses.

“West Michigan deserves a transportation system that meets the needs of today and will last well into tomorrow,” Scholten said. “With this crucial investment in Harbor Transit, we can cut down on carbon emissions and cost of living in the region. Increased access to transit routes will have ripple effects that will boost our local economy and protect our Great Lakes.”
