Cricket comes to Salisbury for fundraiser
LAKEVILLE, Conn. — The Salisbury Cricket Club played a charity match at Community Field in Lakeville Saturday, June 29. The match was a fundraiser for the Salisbury Volunteer Ambulance Service. Club founder David Shillingford said most of the players are expatriates of the British Commonwealth, with two Americans included.

KANNAPOLIS, NC – The Fayetteville Woodpeckers (35-44, 6-7) rallied out of an early three-run deficit Thursday night at Atrium Health Ballpark, but ultimately the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (47-32, 6-7) ran away with an 8-4 win over the Woodpeckers in front of a big Fourth of July crowd. Fayetteville has dropped three in a row after taking the series opener on Monday.

Fayetteville never recovered after allowing three runs in the top of the third and struggled to generate much offense against the Kannapolis pitching staff.
