Fit4School to host 14th annual event in Aiken County

GRANITEVILLE, S.C. (WJBF) – Fit4School is providing school supplies, health screenings and haircuts at its 14th annual event this week, as parents and children begin to prepare for the new school year.

Volunteers will provide supplies in the drive-thru giveaway on July 20 at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Aiken County Family YMCA located on 621 Trolly Line Road in Graniteville, S.C.

In addition to supplies, health screenings are being offered from Hearing Associates of South Carolina and haircuts are being provided by Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology. There will also be entertainment for children.

Everett Chandler, attorney at The Chandler Law Firm, has sponsored the Fit4School event since it first began.

“Students aren’t going to succeed academically if they don’t have the basic supplies they need,” he said. “I’m honored to give back to the community and help the next generation.”
