State Route 17 reopens near Ephrata
EPHRATA, Wash. — State Route 17 is closed near Ephrata due to a wildfire. According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office (GCSO), SR 17 is closed between SR 282 and SR 28. GCSO said the fire started around 6 p.m. near the Ephrata gun range and was fueled by wind.

Cause of Thursday's fire that burned buildings in Moses Lake confirmed
MOSES LAKE - Grant County officials have confirmed that cause of a 100-acre fire that burned several outbuildings in Moses Lake on Thursday. The fire scorched land in the area of Neppel Road, Road E-NE and McConihe Road in the northwestern portion of Moses Lake. Grant County Sheriff's spokesman Kyle Foreman says the fire was accidentally sparked by a welder who was hired by a property owner. The welder was fixing a trailer when they accidently ignited the fire with a cutting torch. No penalty will be issued from the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

A Moses Lake man is behind bars on a litany of charges related to trafficking illegal drugs. The Grant County Sheriff's Office says 41-year-old César Concepción Adamé was arrested just before 6 a.m. on Wednesday after leaving his home in the 2000 block of West Peninsula Drive.
Chelan, Douglas, Grant PUDs Suing Over Treaty, Payments To Canada
The Chelan, Douglas and Grant County PUDs have a lawsuit against the Bonneville Power Administration and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The PUDs are part of an agreement the federal agencies have with Canada over the flow of water on the Columbia River, which is called the Columbia River Treaty.
