Firefighters Make Progress on Upper Applegate Fire, Strengthen Containment Lines
Firefighters battling the Upper Applegate Fire, located south of Ruch, made significant progress overnight. The containment lines have now reached 70% directly lined, leaving 30% indirectly lined. Cooler temperatures and higher humidity allowed for strategic firing operations, helping to bridge the gap between the fire’s edge and the indirect lines on the north end. This methodical work strengthens the buffer between the fire and nearby homes.
