HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM)– A bicyclist who was wanted in two counties was tased after leading Troopers on a chase in Dauphin County on Thursday, according to charging documents.

Cory Brodbeck-Coover, 45, of Grantville, fled a traffic stop on a bike after Troopers pulled him over for traffic violations at the intersection of Bow Creek Road and Jonestown Road in East Hanover Township just after 11 p.m., State Police at Harrisburg said in the charges filed.

During the chase, Brodbeck-Coover didn’t use his hand to signal turning and ignored Troopers’ commands to stop even when the Trooper used their police cruiser’s siren, according to a criminal complaint.

A taser was used on Brodbeck-Coover after he continued into a field and fell to the ground where Troopers were able to take him into custody.

Suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found on Brodbeck-Coover when he was searched, the complaint says.

Troopers also discovered that Brodbeck-Coover was wanted in Dauphin and Lebanon Counties for multiple violations.

Brodbeck-Coover is facing misdemeanor charges of fleeing or attempting to elude officer, resisting arrest, turning movements required turn signals, false identification to law enforcement officer and drug charges. He also faces summary charges of traffic violations.
