The Blue Dragon Athletic Department has released its home game themes for the 2024 Blue Dragon football season. Blue Dragon football, the 2020/21 NJCAA Division I national champion, is set to host six home games this fall, including a 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 kickoff against the 2021 NJCAA national champion New Mexico Military Institute.

Last Friday, August 16th the Washburn Rural Young Life Club held their annual color chaos event. During this event, students play mini-games such as egg toss, relays, and other water games. Following those games students then gather around with water paint and colored powder, where they then throw the paint/powder all over each other.
Independence to Install New Lights at Riverside Park Tennis Courts
There's good news for Independence tennis players who like to play under the lights. For more than a year, twelve of the forty lights at the Riverside Park tennis courts have not been working. Independence resident Ken Brown has requested that the city repair the lights to make it possible for the courts to be used at night. Assistant City Manager Dave Cowan says the city has two options.
