New Affordable Housing in Arlandria Moves Forward
A project to raze a garden apartment community and replace it with a larger development on Elbert Avenue in the Arlandria neighborhood is moving forward. City Council on Saturday will be voting on a request for a loan of $3,475,000 and a pilot rental subsidy grant of of $350,000 to Community Lodgings, Inc., which will help move forward an application for Virginia Housing Opportunity Tax Credits.

Apartment-rental costs in Tysons priciest in the region
Tysons leads the pack in median apartment-rental prices in new data, with the cost to renters rising nearly 5 percent year-over-year. With a median monthly cost of $2,396 for one-bedroom units and $2,872 for two bedrooms, Tysons had the highest median rate of the 34 communities within the Washington metropolitan region tracked by Apartment List.

Brookfield Asset Management has taken title to a 290,835-square-foot office property at 1200 New Hampshire Ave. NW in Washington, DC, through a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure, reported Trepp. The property was owned by BGO, the former BentallGreenOak, which had purchased it in 2018 for $174.5 million. BGO funded its acquisition with $123 million of financing from Citigroup. That loan, whose most recent balance was $70.8 million, was sold to Brookfield last April.
