Green Bay Packers Jordan Love Named Underpaid QB

In a recent article from Bleacher Report, they reset the quarterback market in terms of their contracts. What did they have to say about the contract for Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love?

The Green Bay Packers have been one of the most fortunate franchises when it comes to performance from the quarterback position. From Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers, to now Jordan Love, the last three decades have been great at the most important position on the field.

While Love doesn’t have a huge sample size as a starter in the NFL, he played excellent for the Packers down the stretch and into the playoffs last season. Everyone was shocked to see the Packers beat the Dallas Cowboys Super Wild Card Weekend, but then they nearly took out the San Francisco 49ers as well.

Recently, Bleacher Report spoke about current quarterback contracts in the NFL. Here’s what they had to say about Love.

• AAV: $13.5 million
• The sample is small, but the fact is Love was an absolute star during the second half of his first season as an NFL starter. That alone makes him underpaid as he’s in the same range as borderline starters like Minshew and Darnold.
• What he’s worth: $25 million

Considering what we saw from Jordan Love in the second half of the season, as he led the Packers to the playoffs, he is certainly underpaid as of now. Seeing the number of $25 million per season that was proposed in the article certainly makes sense because of the sample size, but another great year for Love in 2024 could result in that number going up even more.

With top quarterbacks in the league now getting over $40 million per season easily, Love can certainly find himself in that category with a strong 2024. As a potential free agent in 2025, it will be interesting to see how much Love will be getting sooner rather than later.
