Analyst Pitches CeeDee Lamb to Green Bay Packers Trade

There are some positives to how the Green Bay Packers wide receiver room is set up. They are tough to game-plan against with a diverse group of talented pass catchers who can beat you in several ways. But, would their offense be taken to another level with a bonafide No. 1 target, such as CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys?
Jordan Love is surrounded by young, talented pass catchers. There isn’t a single wide receiver on the roster with more than two seasons of NFL experience under their belt. The Green Bay Packers proved last season it was a plan that could work, as they closed the season out on a high note.
They earned a playoff spot and defeated CeeDee Lamb and the Cowboys during Super Wild Card Weekend. It is hard to imagine the Packers would want to jump into high-stakes negotiating with a star wide receiver again after trading away Davante Adams two offseasons ago.
But, NFL analyst Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report has pitched a trade idea that sends CeeDee Lamb to Green Bay. In his suggested proposal, the Cowboys would receive one of Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed and a second-round pick in exchange for their record-setting wide receiver.
“The Green Bay Packers have a lot of good, though not great or well-established receivers. But in a huge year for Jordan Love and Co., the team might want to go bold with Lamb and sacrifice two of them because they’ve established the depth necessary to afford that swap,” wrote Gagnon.
There is no denying how talented of a player CeeDee Lamb is. But it is hard to imagine Green Bay Packers ownership and the front office making such a deal. If they wanted to commit assets to a top-end wide receiver, they would have done it over the last two offseasons instead of committing to the youth movement.
On the other side of the coin, it would be hard to imagine the Cowboys accepting an offer like this. Wide receivers of CeeDee Lamb’s caliber all fetch at least one first-round pick in return. Watson, Doubs and Reed are talented in their own right, but two of them didn’t even combine to produce at the same level Lamb did in 2024.
