With their first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers selected Arizona left tackle Jordan Morgan. Throughout the pre-draft process, analysts wondered whether or not the team would keep him at left tackle.

His arm-length is less than desirable, but he more than held his own with the Wildcats collegiately. At the start of his professional career during offseason workouts, the Packers were using Jordan Morgan at left tackle.

However, he didn’t stay there for long. During OTAs and mandatory minicamp, you could have seen the Arizona product playing all across the offensive line. As is the case with several other players on the team, the Packers have been cross-training Jordan Morgan at multiple positions.

During the offseason program, he has already played left tackle, left guard, right guard and right tackle. Continuing to test him on the mental side of the game is something the Packers will do continue doing moving forward.

“He’s got a long way to go in terms of just mentally,” coach Matt LaFleur said. “Physically, he has all the tools that you look for and we’re going keep pushing him and he’s got to understand that…I think he’s approaching it the right way and we’re going to continue to push him.”

Getting cross-trained will only improve Jordan Morgan’s chances of being in the starting lineup in Week 1. At left tackle, he will be competing for the starting job with Rasheed Walker.

But, right guard has an opening with the departure of Jon Runyan Jr. this offseason in free agency. Right tackle could also be open depending on what the team does with Zach Tom once he returns from injury. Left guard is also a possibility if Elgton Jenkins gets moved to center.

It is anyone’s guess what the starting lineup could look like come Week 1. The Packers are going to play their five best players, but starting jobs are going to be up for grabs all summer long. This is going to be the most competitive training camp battle the team has this year.
