Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander is one of the best players in the NFL at his position. Prior to an injury-riddled 2023 campaign, he received the highest coverage grade in the league from PFF for three years running.

A true shutdown corner, Jaire Alexander is an elite weapon defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley has at his disposal. If he can remain healthy and not have any run-ins with the coaching staff, he is as good as it gets at cornerback.

Highly rated among his peers at the position, Jaire Alexander was recently recognized as one of the best players in the NFL regardless of position. Over at CBS Sports, Pete Prisco shared his rankings of the 100 best players in the league.

Coming in at No. 64 was the Packers’ star cornerback. Only six cornerbacks were ranked ahead of him; Sauce Gardner, Pat Surtain II, Trent McDuffie, Jaylon Johnson, Jalen Ramsey, and Charvarius Ward.

“Injuries are the only thing that keep holding him back. He needs to stay on the field because when he does he can lock up any receiver in the league. The talent is certainly there to be a top-tier corner year in and year out,” wrote Prisco.

Jaire Alexander will have something to prove during the 2024 season. He has come into the offseason with a different demeanor, looking to be more selfless and doing whatever it takes to help the team.

Last season in Prisco’s rankings, the Packers’ secondary star was ranked No. 21. The drop in the rankings was warranted, but you can be sure that Jaire Alexander will do everything he can to climb back near the top 20.

In 2023, Jaire Alexander only played in seven games because of injury or suspension. It was the first time in his career that he didn’t record at least one interception in a game. He will be motivated to get back on track in 2024, especially after rumors swirled that the Packers could look to move on from him.
