GREEN BAY - Campgrounds operated by Brown County will be open during the 2025 NFL draft in April if you're looking to book one of the over 200 campsites and are seeking for something cheaper, and possibly colder, than an Airbnb.

The 2025 NFL draft will be April 24-26 in Green Bay, with official events at Lambeau Field, Titletown, and the Resch complex. Attendance is expected to be up to 250,000 over the three day. Around 100,000 people are expected on the first day. It could be the biggest event Green Bay has ever seen, with draft organizers estimating a $20 million economic impact in Brown County.

Brown County organizations are getting ready for the draft with activities and earlier opening times ahead of the summer season. There might be more family-fun activities to come at other places around the county as we get closer to the draft.

Here's what we know about booking a campsite and what activities will be around for families at the Neville Public Museum and parks in Brown County.

County-run campgrounds will open for the 2025 NFL draft

All of the campsites operated by the county will be available during the draft, said Brown County Parks Director Matt Kriese. There have been a lot of calls and interest in the campgrounds for the draft, he said.

Because Green Bay and Brown County are "much smaller" than other NFL host cities, "camping is going to play a bigger role with limited hotel rooms in the area," he said.

Campgrounds operated by Brown County will open ahead of the summer season so people can use them during the draft. They typically open up for use on May 1. The prices and information will be finalized in the fall for people to start making reservations online. The parks department is considering setting up shuttles from the campgrounds to the area around Lambeau Field for people, Kriese said. The Parks Department is also considering possible draft-related activities at the campgrounds, but those plans have not been set yet.

The county has three main campgrounds . Reservations will be first-come, first-serve. The County Board will set the camping rates per night during the draft so they may not be the same as what is currently listed on the Brown County website.

The Bay Shore campground is the most popular campground in the area and sits on the Niagara Escarpment. with 107 wooded campsites. Pets are allowed on leashes, and amenities include a boat launch, firewood, hiking and biking trails, and a playground. Distance to Lambeau? 24 miles.
    • Brown County Fairgrounds : 1500 Fort Howard Ave., De Pere. The fairgrounds camping site is the best option for anyone looking for urban camping or traveling in a large RV unit. It's close to Lambeau Field and downtown Green Bay with 46 campsites, a boat launch, and free WiFi. Distance to Lambeau? 4 miles .

Park shelters will also be available for larger, corporate events. They will all be blocked out for use for draft-related events and won't be available for regular use, Kriese said. Reservations can be made by calling 920-448-6242 or at the parks office in Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve, 2024 Lakeview Drive, Suamico. Most shelters can be rented between 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
