While Jordan Love becomes closer to a long-term extension with the Green Bay Packers, the quarterback is happy about another contract extension signed this week. His fiancée Ronika Stone, a volleyball player, agreed to a new deal to stay with the San Diego Mojo for the 2025 season of the Pro Volleyball Federation.
A 6'2 middle blocker, Ronika Stone had his new deal signed this week, and Love used his social media to share the news.
A 26-year-old athlete, Ronika played college volleyball at Oregon. Then, he started her pro career with Volero Le Cannet, in France. She has since played for the Athletes Unlimited, in the United States, and Pinkin de Corozal, in Puerto Rico. She has been with the Mojo since last season, when she was named to the All-PVF Second Team.
"Returning to San Diego fills me with a renewed excitement and determination," Stone said. "After falling short last season, my sights are set on redemption and the ultimate goal, of course – to bringing home the championship."
Ronika led her team in hitting percentage and aces, ranked second in points (238) and blocks (51) and was third in kills (174) and attempts (429).
"I am thrilled to announce the return of middle blocker Ronika Stone," said head coach Tayyiba Haneef-Park. "Ronika brings a wealth of leadership and talent to our roster having finished as a member of the second team all-league last year. She was an integral part of our offense and championship run last year and she is beyond hungry to bring the title home this year."
Stone is native from San Jose, California.
Love's turn
Last week, during a vacation trip, Jordan and Ronika became engaged. Now, Love gets ready for his second training camp as the Packers' starting quarterback.
General manager Brian Gutekunst said the plan was to sign Love before training camp, so the expectation is for a new deal to get done over the next three weeks.
