The Green Bay Packers 2024 NFL Draft class is one that fans are excited to see get going. They look to have come away with several players capable of making an impact right away, including safety Javon Bullard.

There are two key ingredients for a rookie to find success early in their career. Talent is important, but the opportunity to get on the field and shine is important. Javon Bullard has both heading into his first training camp with the Packers.

On a revamped safety depth chart, McKinney is the only one with a set-in-stone role. The starting job opposite of him is up for grabs, and Javon Bullard is one of the options to seize that role.

One analyst who expects him to be on the field early and often is Chad Reuter of NFL.com. Recently, Reuter made projections for who would be on the All-Rookie Teams in 2024.

He has projected Javon Bullard to earn one of the spots at safety. Projected to be alongside him is Buffalo Bills second-round pick Cole Bishop out of Utah. He was selected two spots after the Packers snagged Bullard.

“Bullard can make plays on the ball and secure open-field tackles whether he’s lined up deep or inside the box, which makes him a great complement to free-agent addition Xavier McKinney. Defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley will have the flexibility to play single-high or two-deep coverage. Bullard showed a proclivity for making big plays in big games during his Georgia career. If he does the same thing this fall, it should lead to a successful Packers campaign and a spot for him on the All-Rookie Team,” Reuter wrote.

Javon Bullard isn’t the only rookie on the Packers Rueter expects to shine in 2024. Joining him on the All-Rookie Defensive Team is fellow second-round pick, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper out of Texas A&M.

A second-round pick out of Georgia, Javon Bullard is expected to be an immediate contributor in the secondary. He could start alongside Xavier McKinney and will be a versatile piece for defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley to deploy.

He will be facing some competition from fellow rookies. On Day 3, the Packers selected Evan Williams out of Oregon and Kitan Oladapo out of Oregon State.

Both players could certainly factor into the mix for Hafley, who is installing a more aggressive, attacking style of defense. It will play to the strengths of his players, as his rookies all exhibit versatile skill sets that can fill several different needs.
