As the Green Bay Packers get ready for the 2024 season, a few of their young players were recently named to the 2024 All-Breakout Team. One player to keep an eye on is tight end Luke Musgrave.
While the Green Bay Packers had a very successful 2023 season, they are still a very young team that we likely haven’t seen the best of yet. On the offensive side of the ball, the Packers have really overhauled the team in a couple of years, as they moved on from stars like Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams.
However, the Packers have done an excellent job in the NFL Draft recently and really reloaded the roster with a lot of promising young players. Recently, CBS Sports named their 2024 All-Breakout Team of players who are going to have breakout seasons.
Musgrave missed six games last season and still managed to record 34 receptions for 352 yards and one touchdown in a Packers offense that found itself as the season progressed. Musgrave is the prototypical NFL tight end. Another season in the system, an offseason removed of distraction and, hopefully, a return to full health should allow him to have the type of breakout season that Green Bay expected from him when he was taken No. 42 overall.
At the tight end position, there are a lot of good young players coming out of college in recent years and Musgrave being on the list is high praise. In 2023, Musgrave showed signs that he could be a very good player in the league, but injuries and missing time hampered his production.
Coming into 2024 with a clean slate and with a year in the system under his belt, Musgrave can definitely have a breakout year. By all accounts, the Packers are going to have one of the best offenses in the league led by Jordan Love.
However, with a lot of young weapons, it is going to be very challenging for opposing defenses to defend Luke Musgrave.
