As a nationally syndicated sports talk radio host and the head coach of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay men’s basketball team, Doug Gottlieb walks an interesting line when commenting on topics, and he waded into the waters of the Bronny James debate on social media over the weekend.
While responding to a fan on X, Gottlieb expressed doubt that the eldest son of NBA superstar LeBron James would be able to cut it on his Green Bay team.

“He would compete to start, but while I like how he moves the ball and defends, he wouldn’t be my point, and my wings are bigger and without seeing him w/us, I think it would be hard for him to start TBH,” Gottlieb wrote back in reply to the question.
Questions surrounding how Bronny will play in the NBA or the NBA G League have been permeating as Summer League has begun in Las Vegas and all eyes are on the Lakers the 55th overall pick in this year’s draft.

Bronny shot just 3-for-14 and had eight points during Friday’s Las Vegas Summer League opener against the Rockets.
Bronny, who started six games last season at USC, has shot 6-for-26 overall and 0-for-12 from 3-point range when you combine Friday’s game with the two games he participated in as part of the California Classic.
