    Green Bay father, daughter found dead at Canyonlands National Park in Utah have been identified

    The father and daughter from Green Bay who died on Friday during a hike at Canyonlands National Park in Utah have been identified, according to the San Juan County (Utah) Sheriff's Office.

    The two have been identified as 52-year-old Albino Herrera Espinoza, and 23-year-old Beatriz Herrera, the sheriff's office reported in a Facebook post. Albino Espinoza and his wife, Maria Carmen Herrera, own the El Sarape restaurants in Green Bay and Ashwaubenon, Maria told the Press-Gazette.

    The two had been hiking on the Syncline Trail, gotten lost, and ran out of water, the National Park Servic e said. The air temperature was around 100 degrees on Friday afternoon when the San Juan County Dispatch received a 911 text from the two hikers who said they were lost and out of water.

    The news release says that at 5:45 p.m. Friday, the sheriff's office was notified about one victim, and then 15 minutes later about a second deceased hiker. The National Park Service rangers and Bureau of Land Management Moab District Helitack personnel responded to the scene following the texts.

    San Juan County Sheriff’s Office and the National Park Service are investigating this incident.
