Packers icon ranked surprisingly low on ESPN's greatest athletes of 21st century

Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been named one of the greatest athletes of the 21st century. However, he may not be ranked as highly as football fans would like.

According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN , Rodgers, who currently plays with the New York Jets, is one of the best athletes of this century, and when you look at his accolades, it's no wonder why.

Rodgers is a four-time National Football League MVP, 10-time Pro Bowler, four-time first-team All-Pro, and was the MVP for Super Bowl XLV. He is also the Packers' career leader in pass touchdowns.

"Of all the superlatives and milestones that can be used to explain Rodgers' greatness, here's one that often gets overlooked," Demovsky said. "He's the NFL's career leader in touchdown-to-interception ratio (475 TDs, 105 INTS). In that way, he was the anti-Brett Favre, yet he carried on Favre's remarkable run of success in Green Bay before getting traded to the Jets.

"Packers coach Matt LaFleur perhaps described Rodgers' impact best when he said near the end of Rodgers' run with the Packers: 'A lot of people have been rewarded, quite frankly, because of his ability to go out there and play.'"

Despite all of this praise, Rodgers is only ranked 91st on the entire list. This puts him behind at least five other football players: Peyton Manning (26), Randy Moss (27), Calvin Johnson (57), J.J. Watt (58), and Ray Lewis (61).

While Tom Brady has yet to be ranked, it is presumed he will be in the top five. Patrick Mahomes is also expected to place somewhere in the top 25.
