GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – With the Green Bay Packers’ 2024 Training Camp just around the corner, fans and analysts alike are buzzing with anticipation.
Here are the top five things to look forward to as the Packers kick off their 79th training camp on July 22nd:
American Family Insurance DreamDrive
The return of the annual DreamDrive tradition continues. Children are invited to bring their bikes to each open practice day and offer Packers players a ride from Lambeau Field to Ray Nitschke Field. If you want to meet some of your favorite players like Jordan Love, Christian Watson, Jaire Alexander and coaches, this is the perfect opportunity.
Beyond the DreamDrive, the Bellin Bike Rodeo and free bike-helmet giveaway, along with the Bellin Training Camp Village, add to the camp’s community atmosphere. These activities ensure a fun and engaging experience for fans of all ages, making the training camp a must-visit event for Packers supporters. On Saturday, July 27, families are invited to join the Packers and Bellin Health for the NFL’s Back Together Saturday initiative by enjoying the Bellin Health Training Camp Village from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Packers alumni will sign autographs at the event, including Dexter McNabb and Kevin Barry from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Open Practices
For fans eager to see their favorite players up close, the Packers are offering eight open practices in the last 10 days of July . This is a prime opportunity to catch a glimpse of new plays, see rookies in action like 1st round pick Jordan Morgan, meet your favorite players and witness the team dynamics in real time. The first open practice begins at 10:30 a.m. on July 22, with additional sessions on July 23-24, 26-28, and 30-31. August 1 features another open practice before Family Night on August 3.
Family Night at Lambeau Field
Family Night is a highlight of the Packers’ preseason activities. Scheduled for August 3, this event is more than just a practice session . It’s a full evening of entertainment, including player introductions, practice drills, and a fireworks display to cap off the night. To park in the Lambeau lots it’s required that you buy a parking pass, but with the number of fans that travel to training camp, the passes have been all sold out.
The next viable option is parking on the street. The event begins with doors opening at 5:30 p.m., warmups at 7 p.m., and practice starting at 7:30 p.m. A Family Fest in Titletown from 1:30 to 7 p.m. will feature games, entertainment, and activities for all ages.
Preseason Matchups
Training camp sets the stage for the preseason, and the Packers have an exciting lineup and the youngest lineup in the league with an average of 25 years old. GB kicks off their preseason games against the Cleveland Browns on August 10 at 3:25 p.m. CT. Fans can also look forward to the game against the Denver Broncos on August 18 at 7 p.m. CT, following a joint practice on August 16.
Notably, the Packers will be seeking redemption after a narrow 19-17 loss to the Broncos back in October. The camp wraps up with another joint practice against Baltimore on August 22nd, before taking on the Ravens at Lambeau Field on August 24th at 12 p.m. CT.
