GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – With a 51-30 win over Sioux Falls on Saturday night, Green Bay captured its first conference championship since 2006. But the road to making history was a result of dealing with early season adversity.

In the season opener, the Blizzard led the Massachusetts Pirates 40-22 late in the third quarter. The road squad would subsequently score 22 unanswered points to stun Green Bay at the Resch Center. From that moment forward, the Blizz adopted a mantra, “One More”, thanks to an audio book that fifth year head coach Corey Roberson had listened to. He explained the phrase postgame, citing that all his team needed was to give one more of anything and everything in order to win that game.

Following that loss and team meeting, Green Bay rattled off 13 wins in the next 15 contests, including a 6-game win streak. An uncharacteristic trend of success when considering that the Blizzard had only one game of playoff experience in the last decade.
