Packers legend compliments Caleb Williams, says Bears are 'Almost a good team'

A legendary Green Bay Packers player has complimented rookie quarterback Caleb Williams of the Chicago Bears. However, he wasn't afraid to stoke the flames of one of the oldest rivalries in the National Football League.

The Bears are in a massive rebuilding year, drafting Williams as the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft. The USC Heisman winner is expected to play a key role in taking Chicago to the playoffs for the first time since 2020.

One person who was quick to recognize Williams' quality was former Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. While he now plays with the New York Jets, it's clear that Rodgers has some opinions about his former NFC North rivals.

During an appearance on the "Pardon My Take" podcast, Rodgers was asked if he thought Williams was a good QB.

"Yeah, I do," Rodgers said . "I like (D'Andre) Swift, I like Keenan (Allen), I like the receiver from Washington (Rome Odunze), he's good. And then, of course, you still got DJ (Moore). I think that team is almost good enough to beat the Packers. Almost good enough."

Despite being away from Lambeau Field for over a season, Rodgers clearly still has feelings about the Bears. However, this Chicago team looks completely different from teams in the past.

The Bears also drafted rookie WR Rome Odunze and have brought on D'Andre Swift and Keenan Allen to further support Williams on offense. Add on a defense that started to prove itself in the latter half of the previous season, and you have the makings of a legitimate playoff contender.
