The Green Bay Packers and Jordan Love have agreed to a four-year contract extension, which will end Love’s short holdout to begin camp. The deal makes Love the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL, as after one great season as the starting quarterback of the Packers, he has reset the market for quarterback contracts.

With the contract being a four-year, $220 million extension, Love will be on the Packers through the 2028 season, as he is now scheduled to hit free agency in 2029.

With this being such a massive deal for both Love and the Packers, here are three reasons why it’s a good move for Green Bay.

As we see nearly every offseason, holdouts cause a lot of drama between the player and the franchise. Luckily, Love was in the building during his and just not taking part in practice, which is why many weren’t overly worried that it would take a long time to get a deal done.

With Love inking the new deal, he should be back on the practice field soon and getting ready for the preseason with his teammates in a couple of weeks. The signing avoids any potential distractions for Green Bay, and as a team with high hopes this season, that is good news.
