Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love Addresses the Pressure of His New Contract

After a very short holdout at the start of Green Bay Packers training camp, Jordan Love is now the highest-paid quarterback on an annual basis in the NFL. Love resetting the quarterback market shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise after the season that he had in 2024, but some might disagree with the number.

However, Love is a very good quarterback in the NFL and while the sample size is small, this is the business. There are plenty of teams in the league that would love to have a quarterback like Love on their roster, and the Packers really didn’t have much leverage in negotiating.

Now, Love will have some additional pressure on him as the highest-paid quarterback in the league. Recently, Jordan Love spoke about the pressure that will not be on him heading into 2024 and beyond. Here’s what he had to say.

“Being a first-round pick, there’s pressure. Becoming the starter, there’s pressure, but there’s always pressure. I think that’s, you know, part of the job that we sign up for. You’ve got to find ways to deal with that pressure and handle it as best you can to be the best player you can be every day.

“But there’s always pressure. There’s no hiding that. … I’ve been in some great pressure situations, so I think there’s always going to be that. But just finding a way to navigate through this and handle it best I can.”

Love is right when speaking about pressure in the league. As a starting quarterback, everyone is going to look at you first. So far, Love has handled the pressure well, as he had a great first season as a starter coming in for Aaron Rodgers. Replacing a Hall of Famer is no easy task, but Love passed the test with flying colors.

Furthermore, as the highest-paid quarterback in the league now, we will have to see if Jordan Love can live up to the new contract he signed with the Green Bay Packers.
